Interesting

So some interesting things have been happening in the Hooters Girl blogging world, and I plan to address them to give my two cents, and yes, it does have to do with K.H.'s departure and Sauce's reply.

Experiences.

Well it's been about a week since I began at Hooters, and let me tell you, it was everything I hoped it wasn't. Where to begin?

Prelude:

My hiring manager was the bomb.com. Seriously, he actually made me want to work at Hooters (not that I wasn't excited enough already!) more than I did myself. We'll call him Saint. So we did the standard Hooters Girl Image expectations and he gave me a run down of the online scheduling system and other things. Got my white Skechers and was stoked beyond belief. My whole entire training was in one week so things looked good. Up until then atleast.

*btw: I'm not a synic, although it may seem so after this paragraph. You've been warned! lol*

Day 1 of Training:

I went with a very open mind to say the least. Wasn't expecting anything and had no pre-meditated opinions on my future comrades. On the online schedule site, it was said that I was supposed to be with a girl named J. Walking up to the stairs I actually see J, and say hi in a polite way and introduce myself, and all she said was: "Yeah, I'm your trainer" with a kind of mean demeanor. I ignored it and sat wit her in a table, which was obviously to her dismay. She was really cranky to begin with and kept on whining the whole time about how she "wasn't in the mood to be fucking training." Nice. We began the meeting before the shift a while later, and it seemed very chill. Some girls came up to me while others didn't but hey, I was the new girl right? So as the store opened J (which reminded me of Michelle Rodriguez) began explaining to me all of the things we had to do in a rushed tone. I honestly couldn't get anything she said because she wasn't clear, so I had to ask other girls. Now, the reason why she reminded me of Michelle Rodriguez is because she is like a lean, mean, fighting machine. Shes hardcore and has a no nonsense attitude. J really didn't rub me the right way at first, and she kind of annoyed me but the day went on and I kind of put her in the back burner. I met some other new girls, all of the being either really nice, conceited, or bitches. As the day shift ended we said goodbye and awaited my second day of training, which was again with J and a night shift.

Day 2 of Training:

Just in time for the shift meeting, I was next to J and listened to all of the things the managers had to inform us about and how bad the girls' service was . I kind of had a feeling that service was lacking, but when corporate wants to pull out automatic grat for a week to make you work for your money, it gives you a sense of how the employees are at this Hooters. None of the girls that night were nice and all were bitchy, even to their own tables. So I once again did my own thing again that night. J was tolerable but still kept whining about how she didn't want to train me. I basically did all of her work for her and enjoyed the customers . That's pretty much all the positive that came out of that night. At night, all the girls have to walk out together and cash out together, so while awaiting for all of this I got a sense of how the HGs at this Hooters were: annoying, uneducated, and not willing to go out of their way for anything, including their customers. The night manager was the same one from the day before so we left pretty early. Sigh.

Day 3 of Training:

At this point, I wasn't too confident about going in for my third day. I had a new trainer and was a little terrified she would be like J. To my surprise all the girls were nice including my trainer. This was probably the only training shift I was actually trained. My trainer, which we'll call Eva (because of her resemblance to Eva Mendes) was excellent. She was extremely nice and taught me everything I needed to learn. She had been an HG for two years and was loved by everyone. Now, the night was a sucess but at the end was quickly tarnished by the manager of the night, which I'll call Douchebag. Douchebag is about 23 years old and thinks hes the pimp daddy of Hooters. Seriously guy? He made me feel uncomfortable a few times when I was around him and he was too touchy touchy with the other girls. Tried to hit on me but failed. Another asshole-y thing he did was say "So some people gave me a good compliment about your service" Me: "Oh really? Thats surprising , I can't believe it!", him "Yea, me either (sarcastically)." Ugh. Someone needs to punch him.

Day 4 of Training:
Family emergency, didn't show up, and honestly, really did not want to be there anyways.

Day 5 of Training:
Ahhh, lovely day five. Trying to be the positive person I am, I strolled in peppy, especially since it was hostess shift. We were incredibly busy, but hey, I needed some experience right? Met my training hostess who was real nice, and away we were. Saint told me I wasn't in trouble but that I needed to make up for Day 4. Fair enough, I had to at some point anyways. But of course, all the rainbows and butterflies dissapeared when Douchebag was the one and only manager on the floor. Now, not to put every little detail here , I'll just summarize how he was:

1. Too Touchy- Douchebag, all because all the other girls here let you massage them and touch them doesn't mean you can touch me. So get your nasty hands off of me, I'm working at Hooters not at the massage therapist office were its a free for all. And you're not cute; you're actually a whining loser.

2. Rude- Douchebag, all because you don't want to be here, don't try to rub your pathetic attitude on me. I'm new, so stop picking on me; the fact that I can't read your mind and that no one wants to help or explain, especially you isn't helping. Don't call me "the stupidest person on the planet that can't follow directions" , because this is exactly why I'm going to college and am gonna finish my degree, so I don't have to deal with imbeciles like you . Oh, and since when were you the judge of whos pretty or not to get hired here? Don't try to come up to me and talk shit about the poor girl who needs a job and judge her beauty, because the last time I checked , you're so desperate that you hit on your own employees.

be friendly with cop Pictures, Images and Photos

So..with all of this going on for a durating of 7 hours, I make friends with the cop guarding. Probably the only good cop I have ever met in my life who seems to have a big heart. Bought me a coffee and we began to talk about my aspirations in life and his life as a cop. He was actually stunned that one of us had a brain. I told him I felt uncomfortable, and Officer G had my back. I told him the managers were douchey, he told me to tell him if I had an issue and he would settle it. I stuck to his side all night since we were the ones manning the door, and he actually told me something that made me wake up and realize that Hooters was the last thing that I was supposed to be doing with my life:

"NK, you seem like a really nice girl with little tolerance for the kind of BS that goes on in this place; money is good here, but weigh your options and if you have a back up plan, get out."-Officer G

Now that's an unbiased opinion from someone who had only known me for a few hours. So when douchebag said that I could leave, I get out as quick as I could, waited for my trainer to take her to the bus station, and got the fuck out of Hooters.

Got home and told the boyfriend about what happened, and he went to my online schedule thingy, gave up all my shifts, and I wrote an apology email to Saint. My trip at hooters was DONE.

This was about a week ago, and I'm glad I have retired that uniform. I really hope corporate reads this, because this place sucked to be employed at. I never want to be demeaned by a manager like that or my fellow employess ever again. I'm better than that. I was hoping for an exciting experience like my fellow HG bloggers but alas did not. I will update with everything else this coming week, but this will definately not be the last post in my blog, just a little name change and we're back to business.

Leaving the Bank: Week Two of my Two Weeks Notice

And we're at the finish line. Well, almost atleast :) I can't believe my run at the bank is coming to an end. Although this is something I have wanted for a very long time, I still can't believe I'm actually leaving. Everyone has tried to change my mind, but I'm following through with the hoots. Its weird to find an office where everyone gets along, and to say that I'm going to miss them all but, I am :'). Everyone there has a unique character and brings life to the bank, and I'm so glad I got to make life long friendships.

Now to Hooters:
I got my uniform this past monday! I got one pair just to make sure everything fits "right" and then when I go in for training I can collect my other one. I begin next Friday! So I basically have all of next week to eat crap and do things I've been dying to do! I'm excited but at the same time a little nervous, just not knowing what to exactly expect.

Let's get ready to rumble !

Leaving the Bank : Week One of my Two Weeks Notice

The minute my whole job found out that I was leaving the bank for Hooters, mayhem insued. Now if you're thinking that they all decided to gang up on me and tell me that I made a bad choice, they actually didn't, but approached me rather saddened by the fact that I was leaving. One co-worker/good friend of mine was so shocked that he actually went to the Big Boss and told her that he didn't think she gave me a choice but to quit ! I had to laugh when I found out, because at the same time of it being quite cute and thoughtful, it made me think "Wow, I guess everyone here does love me ."

I'm gonna miss all of my co-workers a lot. Just not actually working at the bank. You see, what made my time there worth while was the fact that they are like a living, breathing, walking, and talking The Office episode. And that within a short amount of time, they not only become my close co-workers, but also, good friends of mine. I can't wait until the whole office comes to visit me at my new job :p. It has been quite a sobering week so far, and I can't say it has been easy, but this is what I have wanted for a very long time, and the pieces finally came together.

On another note, I'll be having my boyfriend , who we will call M.R. (or maybe even Spider Man?) , writing a guest piece whenever he can :) He will be focusing his first blog on his thoughts on Hooters and a boyfriend/husbands'/guys point of view of the restaurant. He has lots of ideas and thoughts, so this will hopefully be the first of many guest pieces he will be writing for us !

Now, time to get some breakfast and start a fun day :]

It's Official

I'm finally a HOOTER'S GIRL! :) After so long and persisting I got it!!! To make a long story short I'm just gonna summarize:

-last Friday my family and I went to Hooters and my aunt convinced a manager to interview me (embarassing family moment, but well worth it! I love my aunt!)

-Got a final interview this past Thursday with Big Shot GM ...and got hired on the SPOT

-I start in one week

I'm just so excited that my nerves are going crazy. I just can't believe I'm finally in.

Now, the hard part is going to be quiting my job at the bank and leaving on a good note. I love my team at the bank a lot, but times are tough and Hooters seems like the path I must follow. I quit tommorow, so wish me luck.

And since its finally official, I have changed my blog's name to Hooter's Girl In Paradise.

Which definately means that if you haven't clicked the follow button, do it . now :)

P.A.T.T.

I'm officially on my Spring Break! WOOHOO! Time to hit the beach and get a much needed tan.
Today, as I was driving to the boyfriend's casa, 80's lunch hour came on one of the radio stations I listen to , and this amazing song came on:

Yes, the original version of P.A.T.T. by Eddie Murphy and Rick James! I could not stop laughing but I was jamming to it! So yes, it's my favorite of the week :)
And speaking of P.A.T.T. , tommorow is St. Patty's so a big shout out to my Irish, Irish American, Irish descent readers! And hopefully tommorow's luck of the Irish will help me at my local Hoots with Big Shot GM !
Also, if you haven't subscribed yet, do it!
