Interesting
So some interesting things have been happening in the Hooters Girl blogging world, and I plan to address them to give my two cents, and yes, it does have to do with K.H.'s departure and Sauce's reply.

Experiences.
Well it's been about a week since I began at Hooters, and let me tell you, it was everything I hoped it wasn't. Where to begin?
Prelude:
My hiring manager was the bomb.com. Seriously, he actually made me want to work at Hooters (not that I wasn't excited enough already!) more than I did myself. We'll call him Saint. So we did the standard Hooters Girl Image expectations and he gave me a run down of the online scheduling system and other things. Got my white Skechers and was stoked beyond belief. My whole entire training was in one week so things looked good. Up until then atleast.
*btw: I'm not a synic, although it may seem so after this paragraph. You've been warned! lol*
Day 1 of Training:
I went with a very open mind to say the least. Wasn't expecting anything and had no pre-meditated opinions on my future comrades. On the online schedule site, it was said that I was supposed to be with a girl named J. Walking up to the stairs I actually see J, and say hi in a polite way and introduce myself, and all she said was: "Yeah, I'm your trainer" with a kind of mean demeanor. I ignored it and sat wit her in a table, which was obviously to her dismay. She was really cranky to begin with and kept on whining the whole time about how she "wasn't in the mood to be fucking training." Nice. We began the meeting before the shift a while later, and it seemed very chill. Some girls came up to me while others didn't but hey, I was the new girl right? So as the store opened J (which reminded me of Michelle Rodriguez) began explaining to me all of the things we had to do in a rushed tone. I honestly couldn't get anything she said because she wasn't clear, so I had to ask other girls. Now, the reason why she reminded me of Michelle Rodriguez is because she is like a lean, mean, fighting machine. Shes hardcore and has a no nonsense attitude. J really didn't rub me the right way at first, and she kind of annoyed me but the day went on and I kind of put her in the back burner. I met some other new girls, all of the being either really nice, conceited, or bitches. As the day shift ended we said goodbye and awaited my second day of training, which was again with J and a night shift.

Day 2 of Training:
Just in time for the shift meeting, I was next to J and listened to all of the things the managers had to inform us about and how bad the girls' service was . I kind of had a feeling that service was lacking, but when corporate wants to pull out automatic grat for a week to make you work for your money, it gives you a sense of how the employees are at this Hooters. None of the girls that night were nice and all were bitchy, even to their own tables. So I once again did my own thing again that night. J was tolerable but still kept whining about how she didn't want to train me. I basically did all of her work for her and enjoyed the customers . That's pretty much all the positive that came out of that night. At night, all the girls have to walk out together and cash out together, so while awaiting for all of this I got a sense of how the HGs at this Hooters were: annoying, uneducated, and not willing to go out of their way for anything, including their customers. The night manager was the same one from the day before so we left pretty early. Sigh.
Day 3 of Training:
At this point, I wasn't too confident about going in for my third day. I had a new trainer and was a little terrified she would be like J. To my surprise all the girls were nice including my trainer. This was probably the only training shift I was actually trained. My trainer, which we'll call Eva (because of her resemblance to Eva Mendes) was excellent. She was extremely nice and taught me everything I needed to learn. She had been an HG for two years and was loved by everyone. Now, the night was a sucess but at the end was quickly tarnished by the manager of the night, which I'll call Douchebag. Douchebag is about 23 years old and thinks hes the pimp daddy of Hooters. Seriously guy? He made me feel uncomfortable a few times when I was around him and he was too touchy touchy with the other girls. Tried to hit on me but failed. Another asshole-y thing he did was say "So some people gave me a good compliment about your service" Me: "Oh really? Thats surprising , I can't believe it!", him "Yea, me either (sarcastically)." Ugh. Someone needs to punch him.
Day 4 of Training:
Family emergency, didn't show up, and honestly, really did not want to be there anyways.
Day 5 of Training:
Ahhh, lovely day five. Trying to be the positive person I am, I strolled in peppy, especially since it was hostess shift. We were incredibly busy, but hey, I needed some experience right? Met my training hostess who was real nice, and away we were. Saint told me I wasn't in trouble but that I needed to make up for Day 4. Fair enough, I had to at some point anyways. But of course, all the rainbows and butterflies dissapeared when Douchebag was the one and only manager on the floor. Now, not to put every little detail here , I'll just summarize how he was:
1. Too Touchy- Douchebag, all because all the other girls here let you massage them and touch them doesn't mean you can touch me. So get your nasty hands off of me, I'm working at Hooters not at the massage therapist office were its a free for all. And you're not cute; you're actually a whining loser.
2. Rude- Douchebag, all because you don't want to be here, don't try to rub your pathetic attitude on me. I'm new, so stop picking on me; the fact that I can't read your mind and that no one wants to help or explain, especially you isn't helping. Don't call me "the stupidest person on the planet that can't follow directions" , because this is exactly why I'm going to college and am gonna finish my degree, so I don't have to deal with imbeciles like you . Oh, and since when were you the judge of whos pretty or not to get hired here? Don't try to come up to me and talk shit about the poor girl who needs a job and judge her beauty, because the last time I checked , you're so desperate that you hit on your own employees.

So..with all of this going on for a durating of 7 hours, I make friends with the cop guarding. Probably the only good cop I have ever met in my life who seems to have a big heart. Bought me a coffee and we began to talk about my aspirations in life and his life as a cop. He was actually stunned that one of us had a brain. I told him I felt uncomfortable, and Officer G had my back. I told him the managers were douchey, he told me to tell him if I had an issue and he would settle it. I stuck to his side all night since we were the ones manning the door, and he actually told me something that made me wake up and realize that Hooters was the last thing that I was supposed to be doing with my life:
"NK, you seem like a really nice girl with little tolerance for the kind of BS that goes on in this place; money is good here, but weigh your options and if you have a back up plan, get out."-Officer G
Now that's an unbiased opinion from someone who had only known me for a few hours. So when douchebag said that I could leave, I get out as quick as I could, waited for my trainer to take her to the bus station, and got the fuck out of Hooters.
Got home and told the boyfriend about what happened, and he went to my online schedule thingy, gave up all my shifts, and I wrote an apology email to Saint. My trip at hooters was DONE.
This was about a week ago, and I'm glad I have retired that uniform. I really hope corporate reads this, because this place sucked to be employed at. I never want to be demeaned by a manager like that or my fellow employess ever again. I'm better than that. I was hoping for an exciting experience like my fellow HG bloggers but alas did not. I will update with everything else this coming week, but this will definately not be the last post in my blog, just a little name change and we're back to business.

Leaving the Bank: Week Two of my Two Weeks Notice
And we're at the finish line. Well, almost atleast :) I can't believe my run at the bank is coming to an end. Although this is something I have wanted for a very long time, I still can't believe I'm actually leaving. Everyone has tried to change my mind, but I'm following through with the hoots. Its weird to find an office where everyone gets along, and to say that I'm going to miss them all but, I am :'). Everyone there has a unique character and brings life to the bank, and I'm so glad I got to make life long friendships.
Now to Hooters:
I got my uniform this past monday! I got one pair just to make sure everything fits "right" and then when I go in for training I can collect my other one. I begin next Friday! So I basically have all of next week to eat crap and do things I've been dying to do! I'm excited but at the same time a little nervous, just not knowing what to exactly expect.
Let's get ready to rumble !

Leaving the Bank : Week One of my Two Weeks Notice
The minute my whole job found out that I was leaving the bank for Hooters, mayhem insued. Now if you're thinking that they all decided to gang up on me and tell me that I made a bad choice, they actually didn't, but approached me rather saddened by the fact that I was leaving. One co-worker/good friend of mine was so shocked that he actually went to the Big Boss and told her that he didn't think she gave me a choice but to quit ! I had to laugh when I found out, because at the same time of it being quite cute and thoughtful, it made me think "Wow, I guess everyone here does love me ."

I'm gonna miss all of my co-workers a lot. Just not actually working at the bank. You see, what made my time there worth while was the fact that they are like a living, breathing, walking, and talking The Office episode. And that within a short amount of time, they not only become my close co-workers, but also, good friends of mine. I can't wait until the whole office comes to visit me at my new job :p. It has been quite a sobering week so far, and I can't say it has been easy, but this is what I have wanted for a very long time, and the pieces finally came together.
On another note, I'll be having my boyfriend , who we will call M.R. (or maybe even Spider Man?) , writing a guest piece whenever he can :) He will be focusing his first blog on his thoughts on Hooters and a boyfriend/husbands'/guys point of view of the restaurant. He has lots of ideas and thoughts, so this will hopefully be the first of many guest pieces he will be writing for us !
Now, time to get some breakfast and start a fun day :]

It's Official
I'm finally a HOOTER'S GIRL! :) After so long and persisting I got it!!! To make a long story short I'm just gonna summarize:
-last Friday my family and I went to Hooters and my aunt convinced a manager to interview me (embarassing family moment, but well worth it! I love my aunt!)
-Got a final interview this past Thursday with Big Shot GM ...and got hired on the SPOT
-I start in one week
I'm just so excited that my nerves are going crazy. I just can't believe I'm finally in.
Now, the hard part is going to be quiting my job at the bank and leaving on a good note. I love my team at the bank a lot, but times are tough and Hooters seems like the path I must follow. I quit tommorow, so wish me luck.
And since its finally official, I have changed my blog's name to Hooter's Girl In Paradise.
Which definately means that if you haven't clicked the follow button, do it . now :)

P.A.T.T.

I'm officially on my Spring Break! WOOHOO! Time to hit the beach and get a much needed tan.
Today, as I was driving to the boyfriend's casa, 80's lunch hour came on one of the radio stations I listen to , and this amazing song came on:
Yes, the original version of P.A.T.T. by Eddie Murphy and Rick James! I could not stop laughing but I was jamming to it! So yes, it's my favorite of the week :)
And speaking of P.A.T.T. , tommorow is St. Patty's so a big shout out to my Irish, Irish American, Irish descent readers! And hopefully tommorow's luck of the Irish will help me at my local Hoots with Big Shot GM !
Also, if you haven't subscribed yet, do it!

To e-mail, or not to e-mail? That is the question.
So, remember a few posts back when I described why the Hooters at my desired location was having some trouble attracting business? Well, the new and improved movie theatre will be opening for business next month, and I think I might be shooting another email to my beloved GM tommorow. I think it actually increases my chances of getting hired since the business will be booming in that entire area and I can wait a month to be hired. I really do not want to be a pain in the ass but I am not ready to give up. Sorry GM :) And anyways, GM liked me lots !

The Jersey Shore and it's cousin, Brighton Beach.

Ahh The Jersey Shore. Such a wisp of fresh guido air and tanning spray. yum XD . I usually hate MTV's shows because they annoy me but I have always had a pastime for laughing at guidos and guidettes , so when The Jersey Shore came along, I was like "Finally , something I can relate to."
Well , almost lol. You see, when my grandparents immigrated about 45 years ago from Cuba, they decided that South Florida wasn't for them and that they would go to live in New Jersey. My father grew up as a Jersey boy but eventually came down to Florida and stayed . Long story short, we have a few cousins that still live in Jersey, and let me tell you, they're straight up Wanna Be Guidos lmao. A few years back my cousin and I would occasionally look at their myspace's and laugh at them and their friends because it was hilarious and ridiculous at the same time. One of our relatives even spent there prom night at the Jersey Shore! Anywho, as my like for The Jersey Shore widens every day, I heard some rumor that they were making a Russian American version of the Shore.
That news was just EPIC.
About two years ago , my family and I traveled to the Dominican Republic as a high school graduation present; my best friend even came along. Thinking that we were going to have a chill and fun time, we unexpectedly got hit on by two Russian American guys from Brooklyn who were pretty much counterparts of The Situation and Pauly D (well one of them is actually pretty normal, but still, you get the picture). It was mayhem! I was stalked for about three months by Yuriy (yes, his name was Yuriy) and all he did was IM me about his fantasies to get me to Brooklyn and become his stay at home wife, and how he wanted to dance to "European Arabic Techno House" with me. Lmao . FYI: I blocked Yuriy for the rest of eternity, but my sister kinda talks to Pauly D still (which happens to be Yuriy's cousin) -.-
So now, the new Russian American version, called Brighton Beach, which will be filmed in Brooklyn, the 2nd most populated area with Russians outside of Moscow. This is going to be so much fun !

The Results, The Looks, and A Bridge
Aloha! It's been a while since the last post so lets get up to date on my hooting.
The Results
I did not land the job as I hoped I would. I spoke directly to the GM (not Big Shot) and he told me that I was not hired because some girl had come back from Gatorville and wanted her job back as an HG (understandable, but still dissapointing). I was a little upset because I know that I dazzled Big Shot, and I was not the only girl that got turned down , so all four of us went for nothing. sigh. One thing I do not for a fact is that it wasn't GM's bullshit ; I actually know some one that knows her and it's quite true, she did come back and got her job . Now jumping to something else which probably or hasn't crossed your mind...
The Looks

I am most definately not ugly. It may (or may not) have crossed your mind that I was a medusa ass looking thing and that is why I didn't get the job, but to your dissapointment , I am not :) But I'm not about to post a picture of myself ; I am going to leave it to the imagination and only as far to go to say that I have a medium resemblance between Kim Kardashian, minus the big boobies and ass, and Princess Jasmine from Aladdin (yep, the cartoon). Which by the way, I have been told, not that I actually am that vain. hehe. Anyhow, moving along to more interesting things...
A Bridge
Despite the fact that I have did not land the job, I actually do have a direct connection to Big Shot. Yep, thats right, I know someone who knows Big Shot. And in due time, I may be meeting with him ! Not gonna say anything else, but I will def keep updating :)

Now off to listen to some MGMT and play Petville---I obviously have no life when the boyfriend is working :( lol.
And to my readers who aren't following...follow me! its quick and easy, and I promise more posts about my adventures with hooters and other things non hooters related hehe

Valentine's Day
You know, I use to really hate Valentine's Day.
Until the man of my life sweeped me off my feet :D
So if you recognize Valentine's Day , I hope it has been a beautiful one. And if not, know that someone or some being (like for instance, a pet turtle) loves you. I really think that theres a lot of love in the world to give and to be given :)
Happy Valentines Day!

The Final Interview and Valentine's Day!
Yes, I did get the final interview! After waiting almost a month for a response and what not, I got the call from the GM ! I was so anxious after I got his e-mail last week saying that he would be scheduling me for one, so after that, I would be expecting his phone call at any second. I was literally feeling like a Taylor Swift lyric. Waiting and Waiting. Then on Wednesday around 4:30, I received a phone call from our beloved GM Joe . We talked for a few minutes and he told me that I was to have my final interview at another Hooters where the General Manager of our entire region would be at! At this point, I was incredibly stoked, and I had to prepare for my final interview the following day at 2:15 .
I was extremely nervous the entire day, so my mom's boyfriend (or as we'll call him, Bruce Jenner) decided to take me. He actually worked as a head cook at a Bennigan's once so he was giving me some pointers on the way over.
As he dropped me off at the other Hooters, I was already thinking of the things I should do or say, and I wanted everything to go completely perfect. I walked in , and said hello to a manager and told him I was here to be interviewed by Big Shot General Manager. He told me to just sit by the bar and wait until he came to get me. I was texting my friends and the boyfriend, asking them for there support and when I least expected it, Big Shot came to get me. *just a little background: he interviewed me last year when I was initially hired and it was a hot mess; he didn't like me very much and he wasn't friendly at all* Surpisingly , he was the complete opposite from last year. He greeted me with such warmness and we talked for sometime and asked me some standard questions and he gave me the uniform to try on and to go back out and meet him.
Luckily for me, there were some HG's in the bathroom , and as they were wishing me luck, I asked them if they could check if my uniform was alright and they helped and cheered me on and said "You're gonna do great!" . I was confident that even my own "hooters" were going to be looking good thanks to the new Victoria's Secret Miraculous bra lol. I went back to Big Shot's office and he was dazzled! He kept complimenting me and telling me that I looked perfect and that I had a great smile ! He took me to the "look" board where he explained the look policy and after, asked me some more questions. Then he told me to change and come back to his office. Afterwards he told me that I should get word by this coming Wednesday, and that "the worst part of the interview process was over." Woo!
Once again, I'm gonna be crossing my fingers!
On another non Wanna Be note, tommorow is Valentine's Day ! I really love this holiday so to everyone who will be celebrating, have a great one! Now off to start preparing gifts and start studying a little .
Patience
Maybe it's me being a little impatient and not understanding . I just hate
waiting for a reply! It's almost like that awkward feeling you have when you're
12 and have a crush and you don't know if he likes you back. *sigh*
But I am going to wait patiently and not give up. I'm not going to give in like
everyone else and say "Oh well, life goes on."
I really want this job. More than anything. So I have to stick to my guns.

Anyhow, on another note besides Hooters, Valentine's Day is almost here, and I have
no idea what to get the boyfriend except for his Star Trek Enterprise model. I've seen a Star Trek Monopoly set but, will he use it? Decisions. Decisions.

I think I'll buy him an iTunes giftcard, shirt, and candy along with his Enterprise model.
And yes, the boyfriend is a Treky. But not a nerdy Treky. Kind of like a secret Treky. lol.

Happy February Everyone! More updates to come your way this love-filled month:)

gibberish
Didn't get a reply yet from GM , but something tells me I've got this. And if you're wondering why that Hooters is slow at the moment, let me walk you through whats been going on in that general area first.
Now, the location of this Hooters is pretty much in a very popular, tourist friendly , flithy rich area. It's filled with other restaurants , shops, and other attractions that 95% of people would flock to on their spare time , especially if the whole cliche "South Florida" vibe is getting to them. I went to high school just a few blocks from this popular spot, and anyone and everyone was their on the weekends. But recently, some idiot developer decided that it was a fantastic idea to completely remodel the movie theatre and make it into so kinda upscale movies/bar/idk what else. That screwed up the whole area's flow of work, so it actually is very slow at the moment. So just as the GM told me, I have to be "patient" until some work starts filling Hoots.

It's so hard to be patient !
But I must try. Atleast until I can.
And I definately don't want to be a pain in the ass :p.

The basics
So you may be asking yourself "Why does she wannna work at Hooters?." Well let's start off from the simplest begginging: I just wanted to work there when I started college. I applied last year around this same time and got a final interview and what not, but thanks to the real crappy economy we were in (and kinda still are) , I was never put on schedule. wah. So I got a few jobs in between this time and now, going from retail, to barista, to nothing for two months, and since June, have been working for a bank as a teller. Don't get me wrong, my job is good and stable and I've been incredibly lucky , but it's really not for me. I detest dealing with money and the general area I work in. The stress SUCKS. And I don't want my youth sucked out of me at my young age at 19.

So...this is where Hooters comes in to place. I applied about 2 weeks ago and I think the interview went pretty well. Same ol' type of interview I got last year, and the GM liked me. I sent a follow up email and he told me I was a top contender for the position but that the store slowed down a little and is waiting for it to pick up to send me to my final interview. Woo! (btw that was about 2 weeks ago). I haven't heard since and it must be because of the slow pace at the store but I'm confident ; I just sent another email , which was short , sweet, and to the point, just letting him know that I am still interested and that I am alive , lol.
So wish me luck everyone!
N.K. :)
